Dave and Kristie Davis Celebrate 50th Anniversary

The children of Dave and Kristie (Merchant) Davis would like you to help them celebrate with a card shower for their 50th Wedding Anniversary. Dave and Kristie were married on April 25, 1970 in Walker, MN. They were blessed with three children, Michelle (Ed) Lovetinsky, Ryan (Melanie) Davis and Jamie (Ryan) Johnson, as well as 10 grandchildren, Alaina, Elias, Isabel, Owen, Marjorie, Abigail, Hayden, Nile, Alexa and Natalie.

Something like closing the school wasn't going to stop Mr. Davis from holding an assembly with or without a packed out crowd, the show must go on! Elizabeth Hearn graduates from Milwaukee School of Engineering

Elizabeth Hearn of Urbana graduated from Milwaukee School of Engineering during the Winter 2020 Commencement ceremony. Hearn received a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering.Students with a cumulative GPA of 3.70 or above are listed having graduated with "High Honors." Undergraduate students with a cumulative GPA between 3.20 and 3.69 are listed as having graduated with "Honors.

VINTON RESIDENT AMY EDISON APPOINTED TO EARLY CHILDHOOD IOWA STATE BOARD

Amy Edison, Vinton resident, has been appointed to the Early Childhood Iowa (ECI) State Board as a citizen member. Edison’s term will begin in June 2020 and lasts three years.Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds appointed Edison to the board; she was confirmed by the Iowa Senate. The ECI Board consists of 21 voting members—fifteen citizen members and six state agency members.

Benton County thanks 4-H volunteers during National Volunteer Week April 19-25

 The Benton County Extension Office along with the members of Benton County 4-H would like to take this opportunity to thank all the adult and youth volunteers that work so hard all year to make the 4-H program possible.It takes almost 7,000 adult volunteers in Iowa to keep the 4-H program going each year. Benton County 4-H truly values the caring adults who take time out of their busy lives to teach youth about the variety of experiences 4-H has to offer.
